Reflections on New Years Day

Not long ago, the clock struck midnight and it is now 2010 where I live. Some places have not quite reached midnight yet, but will soon.

I want to wish everyone a happy New Year. If 2009 was not a good year for you, I hope this one will be a lot better. If 2009 was a good year, I wish you continued happiness for 2010.

Sometime this year I will turn 42 years old. Therefore, I wanted to share a few thoughts about life for anyone who has the chance to read this.

Life is short! It goes by very quickly. I still view the events of twenty years ago as if they were yesterday and I have to remind myself that it really was twenty years ago.

There are many paths that people walk in life. We all live different lives and some of our lives are really, really different than the lives of others.

I remember times of stress. In fact, I count the current period of my life as one of the most stressful ever. Stress can do strange things to people. Your thought process can change. You can find yourself doing and saying things that you would not normally do.

Therefore, my first thoughts would be to remind each person reading this to take time to relax. Get rid of the stress in your life as best you can. One time, I simply let all of my thoughts go through my mind and I just kind of watched them for about 20 minutes. When I got up, I felt 200% better.

Meditation is a very good way to relax and unwind. I have tried several different kinds of meditation in my life. To this day, and in my opinion, the best one has been that of Falun Dafa. There is nothing like it.

As time moves forward, this is my message to a stressed out world: Relax! Take a break from your hard work. Try to keep positive happy thoughts. Negative thinking makes us stress that much more.

There are many problems to solve in this world. Become a great problem solver and you can accomplish much.

Are you aware of the fact that there are more people who actually believe in reincarnation than those who don’t? For many individuals, such as Buddhists and Hindus, as part of their religion, it’s a way of life. On the other hand, there are those who are simply curious or maybe looking for answers to help them solve some of life’s mysteries along with the people who think reincarnation is the most common sense approach when considering past lives. For those of you who have a desire to remember your past lives, there are quite a few ways you can go about things.

Keeping Track of Your Experiences

All too often we are presented with very real and very valuable clues with regards to past lives, only to brush it aside, believing the experience to be of little significance. It’s for this exact reason why it’s of such importance to keep a record of events by writing them down. Furthermore, it’s of particular importance that you record the emotional effect any given experience may have had on you as our emotions are more often than not, our strongest and most accurate indicators.

As you go through your daily life, look for clues. For example, list your likes and dislikes, including things from your childhood, your food and fashion preferences and your favorite architecture, periods of history, cultures and climate. Think about including how you feel about the natural talents and skills you possess as well as your fears and phobias, certain characteristics of your nature, your physical appearance such as scars and birthmarks, and other aspects which play a part in your life like your animals, your occupation and those deja vu moments you experience from time to time. This are all clues to a past life.

While dreams can represent the present, they can also represent the past so it’s fundamental that you do your best to record your dreams as accurately as possible. Anything which may be interpreted as symbolic which shows up in a dream, may relate to the past or the present, hence the importance of keeping track. One approach which many people have found to be very helpful, is the use of positive suggestion. In other words, just prior to sleeping, suggest to yourself that you wish to learn about your past life or lives via the dreams you have. Consequently, when you dream be sure to write down everything you remember of the dream. This should however be done as soon as you awaken.

Here again, your best bet is to write down everything you recall in order for you to analyze it at a later time.

Some people choose to meditate with sound whilst others prefer a visual stimulus like the flame of a candle. For those who use sound, it can be a recorded meditation session from a therapist or simply a piece of music or sounds such as the “om” of Tibetan bells.

Stirring up quite a bit of excitement in this field, is the recent discovery of the benefits of using binaural beats. This is still a relatively new technology which involves sound waves of different frequencies being played in each ear. Results so far suggest that the subject feels instant relaxation at a level much the same as that experienced by Zen monks during meditation.

Of paramount importance however, is the requirement for a quiet and peaceful environment.

First of all you need be in a comfortable sitting or lying down position and in a positive mindset. When unwelcome issues enter your mind, acknowledge them and let them pass. This may not be so easy at the beginning but with practice you will soon be able to do this. Whilst not expecting anything except to be able to relax, focus on your heart. Ask any questions which may arise and then let them go. You will find, when you are least expecting it, the answer will come to you.

In most cases, the information and images that come through will help you to solve some of those mysteries you have pondered, whether you believe in reincarnation or not. Of course it may not always be possible for you to prove to others just how authentic your experiences are although it is common to gather enough information at times, in order to research some facts such as names or places.

People are often fascinated to discover that those they are close to in their present lives were with them previously, although the relationship may have been very different. For example, your brother now may have been your father in a past life.

Perhaps you don’t believe in reincarnation or the possibility of having had past lives but if you at least try it, the chances are you’ll find regression to be very beneficial and in no uncertain terms, extremely interesting.
