Food Is A Natural Colon Cleanser

Posted by admin in General

Most people new to the idea of colon cleansing for good health, are turned off by the idea of doing an enema or colon irrigation. So they look for alternative methods to cleaning their colon, and one of the most natural colon cleansing methods they discover is food.

Food is one of the best techniques to use for cleansing your colon. Now, there are several approaches to using food for colon cleansing, so we’ll look at a couple of those here.

First: The lack of food can help cleanse your colon. Technically this is called a fast, or a body detox technique. Using this colon cleansing method, you simply go on a juice only diet for about one week. Juice fasts can last for two to three weeks if you’d like though, and many people use them for both detoxing their body and losing unwanted body weight.

Juice fasts can be done using either fruit or vegetable juices, but if you’re diabetic you may want to water down your fruit juices because they do contain high amounts of natural sugar.

Not everyone can handle going without solid food for a week or more though, so that brings us to our primary colon cleansing method:

Food. Yes, real, solid food that will fill your stomach.

The best types of foods to eat which will help your colon cleanse itself gently and naturally, are high in fiber.

Whole grain and bran cereals for instance, are an excellent way to get extra fiber into your diet and help cleanse your colon. You may want to try adding flaxseed to your breakfast for even better results.

Anything green and leafy is another excellent source for helping to cleanse the colon. Try eating plenty of vegetables such as spinach, broccoli, and various salad greens.

One of the best foods for helping you cleanse your colon though, is fruit. Blackberries for instance, have a whopping eight grams of fiber per cup, and all that extra fiber does a wonderful job of cleansing your colon. Prunes and prune juice are also excellent foods to use for cleansing your colon, and just about any other type of fruit or fruit juice which usually makes you have a good bowel movement will work as well.

The whole point of cleansing your colon naturally using food, is to increase your body’s waste elimination process for several days at the minimum. You want to force your body to start flushing out the solid waste materials, so that it’s also carrying the toxins and bacteria out of your body more quickly too.

Gotu kola has been used as a medicinal herb for thousands of years in China, India, and Indonesia. It was used to heal wounds, improve mental clarity, and treat skin conditions such as leprosy and psoriasis. Some people use it to treat respiratory infections such as colds, and it has a history of use for that purpose in China. It has been called “the fountain of life” because legend has it that an ancient Chinese herbalist lived for more than 200 years as a result of using the herb.

Historically, natural gotu kola has also been used to treat syphilis, hepatitis, stomach ulcers, mental fatigue, epilepsy, diarrhea, fever, and asthma. Today, American and European herbalists use gotu kola most often to treat chronic venous insufficiency (a condition where blood pools in the legs). It’s also used in ointments to treat psoriasis and help heal minor wounds.

There have been no reports documenting negative interactions between gotu kola and medications to date. Since high doses of gotu kola can cause sedation, individuals should refrain from taking this herb with medications that promote sleep or reduce anxiety.

Ernest B. Hawkins, MS, BSPharm, RPh, Health Education Resources; and Steven D. Ehrlich, N.M.D., private practice specializing in complementary and alternative medicine, Phoenix, AZ. Review provided by VeriMed Healthcare Network.

Gotu kola herb is a rejuvenative nervine recommended for nervous disorders, senility and premature aging. As a brain tonic, it is said to aid intelligence and memory. It strengthens the adrenal glands and cleanses the blood to treat skin impurities. It is said to combat stress and depression, increase libido and improve reflexes. It has also been indicated for chronic venous insufficiency, minor burns, scars, scleroderma, skin ulcers, varicose veins, wound healing, rheumatism, blood diseases, congestive heart failure, urinary tract infections, venereal diseases, hepatitis and high blood pressure.

India regards Gota kola as perhaps the most spiritual of all herbs. Growing in some areas of the Himalayas, gotu kola is used by yogis to improve meditation. It is said to develop the crown chakra, the energy center at the top of the head and to balance the right and left hemispheres of the brain, which the leaf is said to resemble. It is regarded as one of the most important rejuvenative herbs in Ayurvedic Medicine.

Sri Lankans noticed that elephants, renowned for their longevity, munched on the leaves of the plant. Thus, leaves from gotu kola became known as the promoter of long life. It is said to fortify the immune system, both cleansing and feeding it and to strengthen the adrenals. It has been used as a pure blood tonic and for skin health. It has also been used to promote restful sleep.

Gotu kola is often confused with kola nut. Due to this confusion, some people assume the rejuvenating properties of gotu kola are due to the stimulating effects of caffeine contained in kola nut. In fact, gotu kola is not related to kola nut and contains no caffeine.

Before considering gotu kola to fight the above mentioned disease, one should consult their physician about its use.  Quality gotu kola can be found manufactured by name brands like Solaray and Natures Plus.  Good name brands like these and others can be found at your local and internet health food store.

Why Do We Have Body Odor?

Posted by admin in General

Have you ever wondered what exactly body odor is and where it comes from?

I bet it’d surprised you to know that body odor is often an indication of toxicity trapped in the body- and a sign that colon cleansing is needed. Have you seen any of the pictures on the Internet of rather enormous amounts of filth being released from the body through colon cleansing? Many companies that sell colon cleansing products will have some of these images for your viewing pleasure on thier Websites.

You might be a little shocked at the images of filth that most people carry in their bodies these days. You might also be surprised to learn that most people carry ten or more pounds of uneliminated waste in their colon walls, and they’ve been adding to it since childhood. And at some point, it’ll start to produce an odor.

Perhaps this is new for you, so let’s back up and talk about why this occurs.

Well, 20th and 21st century diets aren’t exactly what nature intended for us to be eating. Nature intended for us to eat large amounts of fruits, vegetables, greens, beans, nuts, seeds, rice, and maybe an occasional fish or other animal - and not much else.

Since stoves and ovens didn’t come in the nature package, most of our food would be raw, or uncooked, and the fiber and enzymes in those foods still intact. It’s how our ancestors lived for millions of years, and it’s a diet designed to push the waste from our colon right out of our bodies quickly and easily. Did you notice that French fries, candy bars, and cheeseburgers weren’t on the list? Neither was pasta or potato chips. In fact, eating the diet that nature designed for us is pretty much an anomaly these days - and also for the generations before ours.

And with this alteration, there is, of course, going to be an effect.

The effect is that waste doesn’t get pushed out of our bodies as quickly as it should. You might be surprised to know that in the few remote cultures on Earth that still follow a natural diet, it’s common for the people to have three bowel movements each day: one about thirty minutes after each meal. But in most cultures today, that too is exceedingly rare. When you understand how much trapped waste most people have in their colons today, you’ll know why it’s a common occurance for people to produce body odor, after just a couple of hours without washing.
